The use of couplings in centrifugal pumps

When the prime mover rotates, the centrifugal pump also rotates and transmits torque.It is composed of many parts, including impeller, pump shaft, pump casing, and coupling.Mainly for everyone to talk about the use of couplings in centrifugal pumps.The coupling connects the shaft of the water pump and the power machine, makes them rotate together, and transmits torque.Couplings are also called backrest wheels. There are three types of couplings: rigid and elastic, and tooth-shaped couplings.

1. The rigid coupling is actually connected by two round flanges. It has no room for adjustment in connection and operation due to the difference between the pump shaft and the power machine shaft.The plane clearance of the two half couplings is 2.2~4.2mm. When the temperature is high, the displacement should be 1.55~2.05 mm larger than the shaft displacement.The diameter of the rubber elastic ring of the coupling is 0.15~0.35mm than the perforation diameter.At the same time, use special tools when disassembling and assembling, keep it clean and not allow bruising.Therefore, the installation accuracy is high, and it is mostly used for vertical units.

2. Cylindrical pin coupling is composed of half coupling, cylindrical pin, retaining ring and elastic ring made of rubber or leather. It allows a small amount of deformation during operation and can compensate for a small amount of deviation between the two axes.The plane clearance of the two half couplings is 2.2~4.2mm. When the temperature is high, the displacement should be 1.55~2.05 mm larger than the shaft displacement.The rubber elastic ring of the coupling should be 0.15~0.35 mm smaller than the diameter of the perforation.At the same time, use special tools when disassembling and assembling, keep it clean and not allow bruising.The claw-shaped elastic coupling is composed of two halves of the claw-shaped coupling and a star-shaped elastic block made of rubber. The structure is simple, the installation is convenient, and the transmission torque is small. It is suitable for small horizontal units.
 

3. The gear coupling has good flexibility and automatic centering performance. 1. Check the tooth surface meshing of the coupling. The contact area is not less than 50% along the tooth height and not less than 70% along the tooth width. There should be no serious pitting, abrasion and cracks on the tooth surface.If you need to remove the gear ring, use a special tool, do not knock, so as not to bend or damage the shaft.When reinstalling, heat the ring gear to about 200°C before installing it on the shaft.The interference between the outer gear ring and the shaft is generally 0.01~0.03mm.
